Virtual Visits


What are Virtual Visits?

Virtual Visits are the ability to speak to the doctor through HIPAA-protected videoconferencing software from the comfort of your home. The video portion allows the doctor to observe and examine your child in addition to discussing your concerns. It is available to all NC residents.

Why Virtual Visits?

Consider a Virtual Visit rather than an in person visit when you have questions such as:

  • Should we go to the emergency department tonight, or can we safely wait until tomorrow?

  • Do my child's symptoms warrant a doctor visit at all?

  • Should my child be getting better since he/she was last seen, or should we give him/her a little more time?

  • I know my child doesn't need an appointment, but what should I do to help him/her through this illness?

Virtual Visits are also ideal to discuss general pediatric topics and get answers to all kinds of parenting questions on matters such as:

  • Breastfeeding

  • Sleep

  • Development

  • Constipation

  • Nutrition

  • And so much more

How are Virtual Visits billed?

Virtual Visits are billed in 5 minute increments at a rate of $25/5 minutes. The first 5 minutes are paid up front when you schedule the call. For new patients the first 10 minutes are paid up front at the time of scheduling. Additional time will be billed via an invoice from Pediatrics at Home through "Square."
